A new update for the IBM Licence Metric Tool is available. All organisations using
IBM Software in a virtual environment are required to upgrade to remain compliant with their IBM Passport Advantage agreements.
Application update 9.2.25 introduces the following key features and enhancements:
- Ability to easily switch between BigFix-based and disconnected scanning
- Large-scale support for disconnected scanning – the maximum number of disconnected scanners reporting to the ILMT server has increased to 125k
- Ability to download disconnected scanner installers using REST API
- Documentation reorganised to better explain all available installation types (BigFix, Ansible, Lite)
- Support for multiple new platforms and virtualisation technologies
- Security enhancements
- Installation of the ILMT server no longer requires ksh since it is not available by default on newer versions of Linux
- Update of software catalog with End of Support data
Please also be aware that support for DB2 10.5 and Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 has been removed in ILMT version 9.2.25.
If your ILMT server is running on RHEL 5 or 6, and/or using DB2 10 as its underlying database you’ll need to move to a supported O/S and upgrade the database before moving to version 9.2.25. If this is true for your organisation, please take a look at our simple infographic to understand what you need to do, and in what order.
Should you have any questions, or need some assistance please contact us. For detailed information about the new update, including the full release notes, please visit the IBM Support website.
